Readysell 8.32: On the road again…

After taking a couple of months off major releases to focus on various smaller tweaks and bug fixes, Readysell is on the road again with Readysell 8.32. Rolling out to all of our Readysell 8 customers over the next few days, we’ve focused delivering some core usability improvements to help you get the most out of the data already in your system.

Readysell 8.32: Putting you behind the driver's seat with dashboardsGet behind the driver’s seat with dashboards

Readysell may be on the road, but we want you along for the ride. Our new dashboards have been designed to put the most relevant information in front of you as soon as you start Readysell. We’ve designed dashboards for each of the key organizational roles that use Readysell – from managers and sales people, to service technicians and warehouse staff. Please keep in mind though, our dashboards currently are on their L plates. If you have any suggestions on how we might improve them, we’d love to hear from you.

Better serve your customers with price calculator improvements

We’ve improved the flexibility of the price calculator by making it accessible from any screen and allowing you to easily switch between products. The price calculator can now be accessed on any screen from the “Tools” ribbon tab. From here, you can choose any customer/product combination, helping you to look good in front of your customers.

Readysell 8.32: Reduce back orders and save time with substitution recommendationsReduce back orders and save time with substitution recommendations

No one likes a back order, especially when it can be avoided with a simple substitution. The “Substitute” button has a new “Recommend” feature which will quickly bring up a list of stocked products in the same category with a similar sell price to the original. This makes it painless to substitute, especially when dealing with diverse products (such as the endless aisle range).

Seamlessly handle back orders at POS with the “Order” button

When using Readysell at point of sale it is common to work from the shipments screen. This works great when the scanning in products, but what happens if the customer tells you they want something ordered in as well? Now, we have a convenient “Order” button on the shipment screen which will convert the sale shipment into a sale order with a single click. If you have retail sales, using this feature will speed up your sales process. It simplifies POS sales as all transactions can start as a sale shipment, then convert to a sale order with one click if required.

Readysell 8.32: Increase your average order size with cross-sell suggestionsIncrease your average order size with cross-sell suggestions

Readysell can inform your customer service staff when there is an opportunity to cross-sell a related product when entering an order. If Readysell finds a relevant product, a small “Cross-Sell Available” notification will display. If the user clicks the notification, that product will be added to the order. Never miss out on an opportunity to cross-sell again! We’ve worked hard to make sure cross-selling doesn’t get in your way, but if you’d like to turn it off regardless, please contact Readysell.

Country stationery dealer streamlines retail business with Readysell Retail Advantage

Readysell is continually working on improving the retail capabilities of its software. Readysell Retail Advantage is a group of features designed to optimize Readysell in point of sale scenarios. We recently worked with Connelly’s Office National to help demonstrate how these features can be used to gain efficiencies in a retail environment.

“Connelly’s Office National at Young needed to improve their service and retail business. So I decided to go with Readysell due to Readysell’s service module and Readysell’s “Retail Advantage”, a group of features optimised for stationery retail business. Readysell’s Retail Advantage has made a huge difference to my business. Readysell is also designed from the ground up to suit the service, warehouse and financial needs of Office Brands dealers. If you are an Office Brands dealer with any retail business, you should be using Readysell”

– Steve Connelly

Staff member using Readysell at point of sale

Readysell can be tightly integrated with a range of Point of Sale devices

Some of the Retail Advantage features that have helped streamline the retail business at Connelly’s Office National include:

  • “POS sharing” the two point of sale workstations. Speeding up staff access, transactions, cash counts and all aspects of retail. Connelly’s have combined the 2 workstations for end of day cash count (because they are shared amongst some many staff) and treat them as one cash draw, so end of day cash Count is simplified to balance 1 drawer to sales and drawer float, instead of 2 separate floats and balances.
  • “Scan anywhere” portable scanner technology that intelligently assigns barcode scans, virtually removing the need to look at the screen and vastly speeding up scanning of inner or outer units with variable quantities, stock returns, product lookups and other retail functions. For example, they can scan 1 pen and it sells as an each or scan the box of pens and it sells a box of 12.
  • “Staff tracking”. POS workstations are shared by about 6 different staff, but the automatic operator tracing quickly logs a staff member against every kind of POS activity. This makes it very easy to check back on these transactions if other team members have any questions or if trying to track down an error at the end of day balance, as well as providing sales reporting data.
  • “Simplified screen interface” enables simplified and efficient screen layouts plus the scanning automations really speed up POS operations
  • “Smart printing” ensures the invoice, credit, docket, label printing and emailing are automated and fast, the documents printed almost before finishing the transaction

We’ve also received feedback about how fast Readysell POS is moving forward. Some of the newer features Connelly’s are looking at include:

  • “Signature capture” allows you to capture signatures right at point of sale. A new feature which shows how Readysell is constantly enhancing their retail advantage
  • “EFTPOS integration choices” lets you integrate your EFTPOS units to Readysell POS with either Tyro to minimise charges or use your preferred bank’s EFTPOS units

“As a country store, Connelly’s needed retail to be a high priority when we moved to a new ERP. Our decision to go with Readysell has delivered big benefits inretail, service and other aspects of our business. If your interested in retail, Readysell can deliver the benefits you are looking for.”

Introducing the Readysell training video library

Screenshot of Readysell training video library on YouTubeWe’ve heard feedback from customers that bringing new users onto Readysell can sometimes be a challenge.

Over the last year we’ve been putting a lot of emphasis on improving our documentation to make onboarding and upskilling easier. Today we’d like to announce the next stage of our campaign to improve user proficiency and productivity, the Readysell training video library.

The library currently consists of over 100 videos covering a wide range of topics. We’ve aligned our videos closely to the Readysell Training Guide, allowing users to follow along with our written documentation and to easily get more information if and when they require it.

Whether you’re looking to improve your skills or to bring on a new staff member, the training video library should be your first port of call.

You have 3 options of accessing the video library:

We’ve updated our YouTube channel with all of our training videos. They have been arranged by topic area into playlists. Just search for “Readysell” on YouTube or use the link on the Readysell home page.

We’ve worked in collaboration with Office Brands to provide our training video library on Office Brands University. Just click the “Office Brands University” button from My Portal and find the “Readysell Training” category.

Readysell Wiki

Throughout the Readysell Wiki you will notice relevant videos embedded into our existing content. Whether you’re progressing through the training guide, or looking at a specific how-to page, if we’ve recorded a video on the topic, we’ll make it available to you right there.

We’d love to hear your feedback about how useful these videos are and where we can make improvements or new videos in the future.

Update on Windows 10

Last year we notified you about Readysell’s support for and policy on Windows 10. We’d like to re-iterate our policy as a number of customers have landed themselves in trouble by not following the procedure.

Before you embark on upgrading any PCs in your business, please keep the following in mind:

  • We do NOT recommend doing any OS upgrades on machines used as servers
  • It’s safest to upgrade one PC at a time to minimize the impact of any expected or unexpected downtime
  • The best time to upgrade is after hours or non-working days, as this introduces the least amount of disruption

If you have any questions about Windows 10, our support staff will be more than happy to help out. Just open a support ticket and we’ll be right on the case.

Update on Windows 10

Earlier in the year we notified you about Readysell’s support for and policy on Windows 10. We’d like to take the time to update you on Windows 10 and expand on our previous notification.

Since it’s launch on July 29th, Windows 10 has been installed on an unprecedented 148 million PCs worldwide and has already received it’s first major update. Based on our experience with the operating system, we believe Windows 10 is a worthwhile upgrade for any workstations in your organization.

Before you embark on upgrading any PCs in your business though, we suggest you keep the following in mind:

  • We do NOT recommend doing any OS upgrades on machines used as servers
  • It’s safest to upgrade one PC at a time to minimize the impact of any expected or unexpected downtime
