RObI Update – Automatic Dealer Ordering

We have been working hard over the last few weeks getting RObI out to as many customers as possible. We are happy to report that nearly every eligible Readysell customer is now running RObI.

We are now in the process of turning on a feature that has been exciting for many Office Brands members – automatic dealer ordering. This feature will automatically send purchase orders to participating suppliers and receive confirmation for this order automatically into your Readysell system. At the moment this is available for ACCO orders, however more suppliers will be made available by Office Brands in the future.

In order to achieve this, we will be sending out an update for some ACCO product data, including costs and minimum order quantities. This is an ACCO requirement which exists today, but is increasingly important when we try to automate the system. These updates will be distributed in the form of a catalogue update.

John will be contacting each eligible store over the next couple of weeks regarding activation of this feature.

Readysell Chooses LogMeIn

imageDue to licensing issues with our previous vendor, Readysell has begun migrating clients to new remote access software. We have chosen LogMeIn as our vendor partner going forward. The new software is easier to setup and maintain as it does not cause issues with anti-virus software and does not require any firewall exemptions or port forwarding.

From a customer perspective, you shouldn’t notice much of a difference. Readysell staff will be able to access your PC for support purposes the same as before. The only day to day difference will be the blue “R” icon being replaced by a blue LogMeIn logo.

We will be migrating customers over progressively over the next few months. You will be consulted once the decision is made to move your account over.

Introducing RObI

Readysell and Office Brands have been working together to bring you a new level of integration between your Readysell system and the WebSphere Commerce system.

Encompassed as part of the Phase II changes, Office Brands have made available the following functions for software vendors to interface to:

  1. Automatically download customer orders from WebSphere
  2. Automatically upload invoices back to WebSphere
  3. Automatically upload store products to WebSphere

Readysell is proud to announce that we will be the first vendor making use of these new features. Using the latest .NET Web Service Technologies we have developed “RObI”, the Readysell/Office Brands Interface. We have been piloting RObI with a number of stores already and will be rolling out to our remaining customers over the course of the couple of weeks.

In the coming weeks, we will also be turning on functionality that will allow for:

  1. Automatic uploading of contract prices to WebSphere
  2. Automatic ordering at partnering suppliers (such as Acco)
  3. Automatic receipting from partnering suppliers
